Dr. Mario Arlt

Dr. Mario Arlt, PMP, Senior Consultant, ESI International, provides a wide range of direct client support with a focus on large corporate and government clients. His more than 15 years of international experience in project and portfolio management allow him to provide real world advice and coaching for senior executives as they work to drive their organisational PM maturity forward.

With expertise in energy, financial services, healthcare and manufacturing in Europe, Asia and the United States, Mario’s broad perspective is highly valued by ESI’s clients. A respected contributor to project and portfolio manage- ment methodologies, he has developed and executed corporate and university learning programmes in strategy, project and portfolio management. His smart perspective is furthered by practical expertise in executing and analysing assessments to guide the implementation of learning programmes, as well as demonstrate their value and impact.

An in-demand subject matter expert and coach, Mario speaks regularly at corporate and public events, including Project Management Institute (PMI®) Global Congresses. As an active member of PMI®, he contributed to the Project Portfolio Management Standard as a member of the working group that developed portfolio governance standards.

In addition to having served as Vice President of Client Engagements with ESI, Mario served as Director, Strategic Planning and Implementation for Siemens Corporation, where he established and managed an internal project management advisory group. He has held several related positions with such well-known companies as KPMG Management Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers and AIG. Mario also has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the United States.

Mario holds a Doctorate in Project Management from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia as well as an undergraduate and advanced degree, both from the University of Konstanz, Germany.
